Bucks, Bulls Agree To Swap Of Michael Carter-Williams For Tony Snell
MICHAEL CARTER- WILLIAMS
The Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls have agreed to swap guard Michael Carter- Williams for swingman Tony Snell.
A source close to Carter- Williams told Goodman that the guard was informed he was being traded to Chicago late Saturday night.
Sources said the Bucks, who have been openly looking for more shooting and defense on the perimeter in the wake of a long-term injury suffered by starter Khris Middleton just days before training camp, have targeted Snell to give them some much-needed help on the wing.
Ty Lawson To Meet With Kings Officials After Missing Flight
TY LAWSON
Sacramento Kings guard Ty Lawson will have to meet with team officials to explain himself after missing the Kings' recent flight to Kentucky for an exhibition game, according to league sources.
Sources stated that Law- son was late to a Kings shootaround in Las Vegas ear- lier this week, then missed the team's trip east before Satur- day night's Sacramento/Wash- ington preseason game at the University of Kentucky's Rupp Arena, which represented a homecoming of sorts for Kings star DeMarcus Cousins and Wizards counterpart John Wall.
The Kings attributed Law- son's absence from the lineup in Lexington to "personal rea- sons." He has since returned to Sacramento, sources said, and faces an uncertain future with his new team after the week's events.
Lawson's agent, Happy Walters, couldn't be immedi- ately reached Sunday.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook had a simple response when asked about Kevin Durant's recent comments lauding the- Golden State Warriors for their "selfless" environment.
"That's cute," Westbrook said. "Cute."
Durant was asked earlier this week why he chose the Warriors during free agency.
"I feel really grateful to play for a team like that and play with a bunch of players who are selfless and enjoy the game in its purest form," Du- rant said. "They make it about the players, they make it about the environment, so it was really an easy choice."
Westbrook, after being read Durant's answer verba-

"But my job is to worry about what's going on here," Westbrook said. "We're going to worry about all the selfish guys we have over here apparently. So we're going to figure that out."

Cavaliers Re-Sign J.R. Smith; Deal For 4 Years, $57M
Management for boxer Adrien Broner said the for- mer four-division champion is OK, after he posted a series of messages on his various so- cial media accounts that indi- cated he was contemplating suicide.
"I spoke to [boxing man- ager] Al Haymon; he said there's nothing to be con- cerned with here," "Premier Boxing Champions" spokesman Tim Smith told USA Today. "Premier Boxing Champions" is a TV series or- ganized by Haymon's man- agement company.
On Instagram on Wednes- day, Broner posted a photo of a handgun with the cap- tion, "I'm going home I love

Responding to worries about the Ohio native's well- being, Cincinnati Police tweeted that Broner is safe.
He Was Contemplating Suicide
After a contract stalemate that had consumed nearly the first three weeks of training camp, J.R. Smith and the Cleveland Cavaliers have reached an agreement on a four-year deal worth $57 mil- lion, according to league sources.
Smith and the Cavs came to terms Friday night on a pact that will guarantee the mercu- rial shooting guard $45 million over the next three seasons.
The fourth season of the contract is not fully guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Brian Windhorst, at which point Smith will be 34. But sources say Smith's final season will become fully guaranteed unless the Cavs waive him shortly after the 2018-19 season.
The Cavaliers announced the Smith re-signing Saturday but did not disclose terms.
"Bringing J.R. back as part of our core group was a priority for us," general manager David Griffin said in a state- ment. "He's a special part of this family and we are very pleased to have reached an agreement that we all can feel good about. We know he can't wait to get back on the court with his brothers and we are certain that everyone in this or- ganization and city feels the same way."
J.R. Smith had been in talks with the Cavs after he did not pick up his $5.3 million player option for the 2016-17 season in July.
The Cavs also announced they had waived guard Toney Douglas.
On Friday, Smith said in a video posted to Uninterrupted that he was encouraged by the deal and that he would now get down to the daily business of basketball.
"We are extremely happy and proud to say that we have agreed to terms to come back to the Cleveland Cavaliers, aka the champs, aka my brothers. It's been a long road," Smith said.
"I appreciate everybody sticking out through this rough patch of time. I know this hold- out and everything else has been long and tedious for everybody, but it's extremely huge for us. We're happy to be a part of the Cleveland family and just want to take it one day at a time."
