Motorcyclist Killed In Traffic Accident
An early morning traffic accident claimed the life of a Tampa man Friday morning. The accident took place in the southbound lanes of In- terstate 275 at the inter- change of Interstate 4.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 44-year-old Leonel Pena was riding 2016 Suzuki Motorcycle westbound on Interstate 4. When he entered the junc- tion to southbound Inter- state 275, Pena failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway.
He lost control of the mo- torcycle and collided with the outside guardrail. Pena sustained life-ending in- juries and died at the scene.
There were no other vehi- cles involved in the accident that took place at 3:12 a.m.

A 23-year-old Tampa man was arrested Sunday evening after leading police on a chase through the city. He is cur- rently being held at the Hills- borough County Jail without bond.
According to police, officers were conducting surveillance on Thursday, when they at- tempted to stop a vehicle. But the driver fled the scene and the officers decided not to ini- tiate a pursuit. Three days later, on Sunday, the officers observed the vehicle again in the West Tampa area. They contacted air service before at- tempting to stop the vehicle, anticipating the driver would not stop.
Unaware that air service was following him, the man drove to Rowlett Park, where he was observing committing a traffic violation. Officers in the area attempted to make a traffic stop.
However, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene, the offi- cers stopped, but Air Service continued to follow the vehi- cle. When it reached the 4400 block of Tarpon Street, the driver stopped and jumped out.

other side. Air Service contin- ued to track him and notified officers on the street as to where he was hiding.
The incident surrendered after an officer directed K9 of- ficers to his location. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Police identified the driver as Reechaey Tyree Bush. He was charged with aggra- vated fleeing to elude, posses- sion of cannabis, less than 20 grams, and having no valid driver’s license. He is also being held on three counts of violation of probation for grand theft of a motor vehicle.
The car Bush was driving was returned to its registered owner, Advance Rental Ex- press.

Teenager Dies After Colliding With Back Of Dump Truck
An 18-year-old Tampa man died Wednesday after- noon after striking the back of a dump truck. The accident took place shortly after 1 p.m., on Bearss Avenue, near 12th Street.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Jarrett R. Lemmey, of Tampa, was driving a Ford F150 truck westbound on
Bearss Avenue. Officials said he drove onto the north shoulder of the road to pass slow moving traffic. At some point, he lost control of the vehicle and collided with the back of a 2003 Mack dump truck being driven by 52- year-old Eddie R. Diaz.
Lemmey died at the scene as a result of his injuries. Diaz was not injured.
Man And Woman Die In Accident With Semi
An elderly Tampa man died after colliding with a semi tractor trailer Wednes- day morning. His passenger died on Thursday.
Florida Highway Patrol re- sponded to a traffic accident at U. S. 301 and Dead River Road shortly after 10:30 a.m. During the investigation, the trooper learned that Robert Staehle, 66, of Tampa was driving a 1999 Chrysler Van northbound on U. S. 301. Diomithis Koukos, 61, of Spring Hill, was driving a 1983 Semi tractor trailer southbound on U. S. 301.
Officials said that for un-
determined reasons, Staehle’s vehicle veered into the southbound lane and into the path of the semi.
After striking the front of the semi, the vehicle caught fire and burned. Staehle died at the scene as a result of his injuries. His passen- ger, Ms. Joan Staehle, 66, also of Tampa, was trans- ported to Tampa General Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries on Thursday.
Koukos, who received minor injuries in the acci- dent, was not charged. The investigation continues.
