‘Power’s’ Tasha Stuns Crowd At NBA Game As She Powers Through National Anthem
Former 3LW member Naturi Naughton may have shifted to acting (with her role as “Tasha” on the hit STARZ show POWER), but she recently proved she still has vocal chops!
Sunday night (Oct. 30), she sang the national anthem at the L.A. Clippers game against the Utah Jazz, and the crowd went wild.
Naughton proved she can still hold a strong note or two. She even threw up the Black Power fist at the end, a clear nod the re- cent conversations and contro- versies regarding Black

President Obama Feels Jay Z Is The King Of Rap
From living rooms to barber- shops, the question of the greatest MC’s always stirs up good conversation. President Obama threw his opinion in the ring on great lyricist when he called into Sway in the Morning.
POTUS said his two favorite rappers are Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper while still claiming Jay Z is still the king.

The Commander-In-Chief showed respect to the 6 God and said his daughters, love him as well. “He’s commer- cially doing great and [he’s] unbelievably talented” Presi- dent Obama said. He fol- lowed this statement by acknowledging Jay Z saying “Jay-Z is still the king, I mean he’s got a track record. Same with Kanye so yeah there’s a lot of talent out there.”
Back in early 2015, TLC an- nounced they would be making their last album, and erected a Kickstarter campaign to make it happen. Now after over a year and fans’ accusations that it was all a scam, they’ve finally re- leased some new music exclu- sively on iTunes Japan: “Joyride” and “Haters.”
Judging from the snippet, “Joyride” is a feel-good groove that’s in tandem with their signa- ture TLC sound about the good times they’ve shared throughout the years.
“Haters” is another one of their confidence-boosting songs (much like their 1999 single “Un-

pretty) and addresses online and social media bullying. No details on their album titles and release date, but their manager Bill Diggins reveals in June to Paste Magazine that they’ve already chosen 15 songs for the album and it’s coming soon.
1980s funk band Collage is suing Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson in a suit which claims parts of their 1983 song “Young Girls” was unauthorizedly used in the hit 2014 single “Uptown Funk.”
In the suit, Collage claims that “Uptown Funk” “heavily borrows” from their song, and that “many of the main instru- mental attributes and themes of ‘Uptown Funk’ are deliberately and clearly copied from “Young Girls.”
Larry White, the group’s only surviving member, and the estates of the other two late members, Grady Wilkins and
Bruno Mars and Ron Ron- son paid The Gap Band 17% of Uptown Funk in 1st lawsuit.
Lee Peters, are the ones be- hind the suit. They’re seeking damages and profits from the success of “Uptown Funk.”
This is the second lawsuit Mars and Ronson are facing
concerning “Uptown Funk.”
To avoid any nasty legal bat- tles, in May 2015, Ronson and Mars added legendary funk masters Charlie, Robert, and Ronnie Wilson of The Gap Band to the credits as contrib- utors to “Uptown Funk,” giving credit to the fact they used ele- ments of the veteran band’s 1979 track “Oops Up Side Your Head.” Keyboardist Rudolph Taylor and producer Lonnie Simmons, who also played a part in “Oops,” were also listed. Mars and Ronson also gave 17 percent of all publishing royal- ties from “Uptown” to the Gap
Band’s members.
