RAY WILLIAMS
MRS. EMMA W. TURNER
Mrs. Emma W. Turner of 1206 N. Matanzas Ave., Tampa, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 5, at 11 a. m., at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 8525 N. 78th Avenue, Tem- ple Terrace, FL with Dr. Henry Lyons, officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
A native of Mobile, Alabama and resident of Tampa for 75 years, Mrs. Turner attended schools in Hillsborough County, Florida and received an associate degree in Business Education from Saint Pe- tersburg Junior College. In 1965, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida and subsequently a Master’s Degree in Gifted Education from the Univer- sity of South Florida.
Mrs. Turner accepted Christ as her Savior at the old New Salem M. B. Church and was baptized by Rev. Paul Jackson at 12 years of age. “Thank you God for your grace and mercy” is her favorite saying. She was an active member of her church and in giving glory to God, singing in Choir #2 and later Sanc- tuary Choir and teaching Sunday School for singles. Mrs. Turner also taught the Young Disciples Christian Rite of Passage group and participated in mission work and she was recently appointed as a Deaconess.
Mrs. Turner was a proud and committed educator, retiring after 45 years of dedicated service to her schools and her students. She also organized a youth group with Ann Hawkins and was a member of Ki- wanis Club of Tampa, a University of South Florida Alumni Associa- tion Life Member, and volunteered in surgical care at St. Joseph’s Hos- pital. Mrs. Turner also enjoyed traveling and her experiences in other countries.
Thank you, Deacon Solomon and the group, for your ministry of music. Thank You, Dr. Lyons, for the word and your love for your flock. Thank you, Deacon Holley, for your love of God’s word and ministry of evangelism and teach- ings.
Mrs. Turner leaves to cherish her memory with: two sons, Byron Andre Turner and Cedrick Anson Turner; two granddaughters, Kea Marie Turner and Rachelle Lizardo; great grandson, Jax Lizardo; sister, Dr. Masselena Echols; two sisters-in law, Ella Collins and Barbara Larry; a host of nieces and nephews and grand- nieces and grandnephews; her cherished friends and the students whose lives she touched through- out the years.
Mrs. Turner will lie in repose after 5 p. m. on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 North Howard Avenue, Tampa, and her family will receive friends from 6 p. m. – 7 p. m. at the Chapel.

Donald G. Lawrence was born to the late Willie James Lawrence and Geraldine Lawrence. Donald attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and gradu- ated from Chamberlain High School Class of 1992. Donald was physically challenged from the age of four.
He was preceded in death by: his parents and his nephew, Willie Cherry, III .
He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish wonderful memo- ries: 2 loving brothers, Willie James Lawrence and Timothy Smith and wife, Kim; 2 devoted sisters, Rosalind Lawrence and Ramona Lawrence; nieces and nephews, Deandrea, Tamila, Shantelle, Mahogany, Tiffany, Bud, Justin and Jaylon Lawrence, Abrielle Moore, Jasmine Davis, Ashley Cherry, Adrian Cherry, Devonte Phelps, Damon Hayes, Darius Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Mr. Dee, Sylvia Hall, James and Jimmy Helems.

Ms. Marjorie Francis-Lewis, age 88, was called home on Octo- ber 29, 2016, in Tampa. She was born in Melvin, Pennsylvania on August 31, 1928. Marjorie moved to Tampa in 1956 where she mar- ried the late John Lewis.
She is survived by: 2 children, Stanley Francis (Doretha) and Charlotte Francis; 5 grandchil- dren, Michael Francis, Tangela Phillips (Darrell), Steven Francis, Lakeasha Davis and Tracey Fran- cis-Davis (Mareka); 4 great- grandchildren, Deandra, Dama- cus, Ashlyn, Damani and Josiah; 1 sister, Elizabeth Francis of Melvin, PA; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
The family would like to thank everyone at Ascentia Rehabilita- tion & Health Center who cared for her over the past three years.

Mr. Darrell Alphonso Wimb- ley, affectionately known as “Silk,” passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, No- vember 5, at 2 p. m. at Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, 1006 W. Cypress Street, Reverend Dr. W. James Favorite, Pastor, with Pastor Wallace Bowers, offi- ciating.
Mr. Darrell Alphonso Wimbley was a native Floridian, born March 6, 1964 in Tampa. Alphonso was a loving, devoted husband and best friend to the love of his life, Melanie Cook Wimbley. He lived his life self- lessly and elevated all who knew him with his love, strength and spiritual enlightenment. He was a mentor and provided guidance to many people young and old. He will be truly missed in this life, and will always live on in our memories.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Elbert Wimbley, Sr., and Mary Marie McClendon; grandmother, Henrietta Koonce; uncle, Albert Wimbley; and other family members.
