SISTER ALLIE MAE PRESTON
A homegoing celebration in memory of Sister Allie Mae Pre- ston, who answered the Master’s call on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, will be held Saturday, No- vember 5, 2016, at 11 a.m., at First Union Missionary Baptist Church, 3707 E. Chelsea St., Tampa, Pastor Bruce E. Gar- mon, officiating.
The interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Although born in Havana, FL, Sister Preston was a native of Quincy, FL, and later relocated to Tampa, where she resided for more than 60 years, attending schools in Hillsborough County.
She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, Rev. Anthony Greene, pastor for 20 years serving in the #1 Choir, but decided to return to her home church, First Union Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Bruce E. Garmon, pastor, to be with her family, where she served on the Drama Ministry.
Allie was the founder and leader of The Gospel Links for 35 years and a member of The Tampa Bay Gospel Legends min- istering songs of praises throughout the community and nearby cities, providing a posi- tive musical connection between brothers and sisters in Christ. She will definitely be missed by many.
She also enjoyed volunteering as a Foster Grandparent at Palm River Elementary School through the Seniors In Services of Tampa Bay and has faithfully done so for the past 11 years. She also loved spending time with her family and traveling around the country.
She was preceded in death by: her grandmother, Ms. Ozie Mills; mother, Rosa Bell Clary; father, Charles Preston, Sr., and brother, Daniel Mills.
She leaves to share fond memories: 4 sons, John Preston, Sr., (Janice) of Longview, TX; Albert Everett, Jr., (Jackie) of Gainesville, FL; Jimmy Everett, and Carl Everett, Jr., of Tampa; special niece, Yvonne Clarke (Isaac); 18 grandchildren, Jea-

There will be a viewing on Fri- day, November 4, 2016 at First Union M. B. Church, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends between 6-8 p.m.
