President Trump says he'll widen a controversial travel ban that prohibits nearly all people from seven countries from traveling or immigrating to the U. S., call- ing it "a very powerful ban" that's necessary to ensure na- tional security.
"We're adding a couple of countries" to the ban, Trump said when asked about his policy shift at a news conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He added, "We have to be safe. Our country has to be safe. You see what's going on in the world. Our country has to be safe."
According to The Wall Street Journal, which first re- ported on the White House plan to expand the ban, the Trump administration wants to double the scope of the ban by blacklisting seven more countries: Belarus, Er- itrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar,

Alluding to the words of the Founding Fathers, Schiff urged the senators to conduct a fair trial into the articles of impeachment against the president.
“Itisuptoyoutoshow the American people and

The Constitution entrusts to you the responsibility of act- ing as impartial jurors, have a fair trial and weigh the evi- dence before you no matter what your party affiliation or vote in the previous election or the next, our duty is to the Constitution and the rule of law.”
Rep. Adam Schiff on Wednesday kicked off the House Democrats’ impeach- ment case by alleging that President Trump sought foreign interference to per- sonally benefit himself in the 2020 election and by implor- ing senators to abide by their oath to be impartial jurors.
Schiff (D-Calif.) said the senators are there because Trump abused “the power of his office to seek help from abroad to improve his re- election prospects” and “when he was caught, he used the powers of that office to obstruct” the probe.
He said Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to announce an investigation into 2020 political rival Joe Biden during a July phone call for purely personal rea- sons.

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries Drops B.I.G. Lyric During Impeachment Trial
It wasn’t all a dream. One impeachment man- ager took an unusual ap- proach to answering a Trump attorney’s question: by quoting a legendary rap- per from his Brooklyn House
district.
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) took a line from No- torious B.I.G. on Tuesday when responding to a ques- tion from Jay Sekulow, an attorney on President Trump’s impeachment de- fense team, who asked, “Why are we here?”
“We are here, sir, because President Trump pres- sured a foreign government to target an American citizen for political and personal gain,” the New York Democ- rat responded, adding, “We

are here, sir, because Presi- dent Trump solicited for- eign interference in the 2020 election and corrupted our democracy.”
“And we are here, sir, to follow the facts, follow the law, be guided by the Consti-
tution, and present the truth to the American people. That is why we are here, Mr. Sekulow. If you don’t know, now you know,” Jeffries said, closing with a line from the rap icon’s 1994 smash hit “Juicy.”
