  Man Charged
Inmates Charged After Fight Over Food Ends With Murder
  With $3,000 Theft
Of Electronics
   A 49-year-old man was ar- rested and charged with steal- ing electronics. The theft took place on April 16th.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Walmart, 6192 Gunn High- way, in reference to a theft.
Police said someone had pried open the display case containing $1,600 in elec- tronics. The loss prevention team stopped Emiliano Santos as he attempted to leave the store.
Investigators said Santos had placed the electronics in an empty children’s toy box. He reportedly went to the checkout lane and paid for the toy box, but not the electron- ics concealed inside.
He was charged with grand theft and possession or use of an anti-shoplifting de- vice.
Detectives with both the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Tampa Police De- partments are investigating other cases where the suspect used a similar approach to steal the property.

Waters Avenue. In this theft, he reportedly concealed his face with underwear and fled with $2,800 in electronics.
He was charged with grand theft while wearing a mask and possession or use of an anti-shoplifting device in the case.
The investigations also re- vealed that Santos matched a subject involved in a similar crime on February 11, 2020. In that case, $1,500 in elec- tronics were taken from the Walmart, 6192 Gunn High- way.
During the investigation, deputies learned that Santos appeared to be the same sus- pect who committed similar thefts at other Walmarts in Central Florida.
SHAWN HOLLIDAY, JR. ... Died as a result of his injuries
Two inmates were charged with first-degree murder after the inmate they fought with died. The incident took place last Tuesday.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, 31- year-old Shawn Holliday, Jr., became involved in a physical fight with two other inmates while in the South County Jail, around 12:32 p.m. Two detention deputies saw three inmates fighting on a second story walkway and ran to break-up the fight while or- dering the three to stop fighting.
All three suspects, identi- fied as Holliday, 20-year-old Brett Crosby, and 41-year- old Christopher Jackson were seen actively participat- ing in the fight. However, when the detention deputies got closer, they observed Crosby stomping on the head of Holliday. At the time, Holliday was lying on the

Jail medical staff arrived
and provided first aid to Hol- liday before he was airlifted to the Lakeland Regional Health, where it was determined he suffered a severe brain injury. He died Wednesday.
During the investigation, inmates told detectives the fight was over food. Holliday had asked Crosby for food with the promise to repay him. On the day of the fight, Crosby is said to have confronted Holliday about the debt Tuesday, and Holli- day refused to repay his debt of food, so Crosby told Holl- iday he wanted to fight. At that point, Holliday was re- ported to have sucker- punched Crosby.
Police said the three men began fighting and Holliday became unconscious on the floor. While he was unable to defend himself, Crosby is al- leged to have begun stomping

Crosby has been in the
Polk County Jail since Septem- ber 29, 2018. He is being held on charges of attempted sec- ond-degree murder and firing at other vehicles. His criminal record includes serving 3 prison terms. He has been convicted of felonies 19 times, and has been arrested for vio- lation of probation 12 times.
Jackson has been in the Polk County Jail since April 23, 2018. He is being held on robbery and burglary with bat- tery. His criminal record in- cludes serving 8 prison terms. He has been convicted of felonies 53 times, and has been arrested for violation of proba- tion 14 times.

Rob Gronkowski Traded To Bucs From Patriots For 4th-Round Pick

The New England Patriots agreed to trade tight end Rob Gronkowski and a seventh- round draft pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick, the Buccaneers an- nounced.
Reports suggest that Gronkowski, who has one year left on his contract that will pay him $10 million this year, has been getting his body ready for a return to football.
      Shooting Leads To Woman Being Charged
  Deputies arrested a home- owner for violating the state Executive Order of renting properties closure. Deputies responded to 3209 W. Clin- ton, after being notified of shots being fired at the ad- dress.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived on April 18th to investigate the shooting. When they arrived, they dis- covered a large group of juve- niles on the property. However, none of those on the property were involved in the shooting.
During the investigation, they learned that Ms. Na- talia Rodriguez Cuervo, 23, had rented the property on April 17th through April 19th via Airbnb. The occupants had rented the property for the purpose of having a party, po- lice said.
After learning that the house had been rented for a party, deputies confronted Ms. Cuervo, who told them she was unaware of the Gov- ernor’s Executive Order.
She was issued a citation and Notice to Appear in Court for the violation, police said.
