Middleton High School Principal To Meet With Alumni

On Tuesday, August 23rd, Dr. Kim Moore, Principal of Middleton High School, 4801 N. 22nd Street, will meet with members of the Middleton High School Alumni. The meeting will take place at the school in the Media Center, from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Middleton vs. Blake rivalry football game for this year and to continue to develop a close, positive rela- tionship with the school’s

alumni members.
Dr. Moore is inviting all
past presidents from each of Middleton High School classes since its inception in 1935 to its most recent president of 2016.
“Our students need to know their Middleton history. Join us to raise the next Middleton Tiger,” Dr. Moore said.

Cultural Association To Host Kiddies Carnival

The Trinidad and Tobago Cultural Association of Tampa Bay will be hosting their first annual Kiddies Carnival and Caribbean Food Festival on Saturday, September 3rd. The festival will be held at the Uni- versity Area Community Cen- ter, 14013 22nd Street, from 3 p. m. to 9 p. m.
Zuberi Brown, who is co- ordinating the event, said this event will be a blending of two cultures.
“We’re going to have a lot of island music and island food. This is a great way for every-

one to learn about their her- itage. It’s going to be a great educational tool for kids both from the Caribbean and in
America.
“Our cultures share more
than we realize. Sometimes, thing happen and you begin to feel a part of the culture.”
Brown said this event will be focused on the kids, but that doesn’t mean the adults won’t have something to cele- brate.
The Kiddies Carnival will feature music, arts and craft, face painting, fashion show, singers, dancers, tassa, parade of bands, African drummers, steelpan and food from the various Caribbean islands.

The Middleton High School Class of 1960 will have Class Meeting on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at 3 p. m. The meeting will be held at Days Mart, for- merly Betty’s Corner, 3501 North 26th Street, Tampa.
