Simone Biles Ends Rio Olympics With Four Gold Medals
A Day At The Amusement Park
It was a fitting way to end a memorable Games for first- time Olympian Simone Biles and veteran Aly Rais- man.
The American teammates, gold and silver medalists in the all-around competition, closed out the 2016 Olympics by taking the top two spots on floor exercise, their best event.
The top two qualifiers and the only two gymnasts to score above 15.0 on floor in the all-around event, the pair performed the two most diffi- cult routines in the competi- tion. So it wasn’t a surprise when they finished, in a re- peat of the all-around results, with gold and silver. Amy Tinkler from Great Britain won bronze.

Lebron James just inked a three year $100 mil- lion contract with the Cleve- land Cavaliers, so that means he can A) ball out at the dollar menu or B) send 5,000 chil- dren and their families to an Ohio amusement park be- cause he’s such a great guy.
On Tuesday (August 16), as a part of King James’ “I Promise” initiative, 5,000 kids and their families spent the day at Cedar Point in San- dusky, Ohio. James teamed up with Chase Bank to fund the day’s festivities, which also offered an opportunity for a one-on-one sit down with James.
The “I Promise” initiative was created as part of a pro- gram to give children in James’ hometown of Akron a chance at a free college educa- tion if they excel in the class- room.

ture this offseason, signing a three-year, $100 million ex- tension with the Cleveland Cavaliers. On Wednesday, he provided a glimpse of what post-playing plans could look like.
"I feel like my brain, as far as the game of basketball, is unique," James said, ap- pearing as a guest on the "Open Run" podcast, a show that recently partnered with the multimedia platform "Uninterrupted," a company which James is a stake- holder in.
"I would love to continue to give my knowledge to the
game. I would love to be a part of a franchise - if not at the top ... My dream is to ac- tually own a team. I don't need to (be) fully hands on. If I'm fortunate enough to own a team, then I'm going to hire the best GM and president that I can. But I feel like I got a good eye for not only talent, because we all see a lot of tal- ent, but the things that make the talent. The chemistry, what type of guy he is, his work ethic, his passion, the basketball I.Q. side of things. Because talent only goes so far."
Fact Or Fiction: Cam Newton Trying To Steer Clear
Of ‘Racism’ Issue
CAM NEWTON
The 27-year-old Carolina Panthers quarterback has been under a microscope since his college days.
However, Newton doesn’t feel that race plays a factor. “It’s not racism,” Newton told the magazine of criticism from football fans, some of which has been branded as “flat-out racist by his team- mate, Jimmy Clausen.
Instead, the NFL star sees the varying backlash to typical fodder. ”Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion.”
Newton was pretty adamant about steering clear of race during the conversa- tion with GQ.
SIMONE BILES
sults, both Biles and Rais- man say they were prouder that they earned higher scores on their last routines in Rio than they had during the rest of the competition.
“I think we put the cherry on top with Aly and me fin- ishing on floor as well as we did,” said Biles.
Biles’ and Raisman’s two medals gave the U.S. women nine in Rio, surpass- ing the eight the team won in 2008.
Gabby Douglas Feels ‘Hurt’ After Trolls Drag Her On Social Media

Even being an Olympic gold medalist doesn’t make you safe from Internet trolls, just ask Gabby Douglas.
The 20-year-old gymnast has been the target of Internet bullying and intense slander on social media since the “Final Five” started competing in Rio for the 2016 Olympic Games. Her mother, Natalie Hawkins, spoke to Reuters to discuss the controversy sur- rounding her daughter’s de- meanor.
“What I saw in the stands was someone who was hurting and she was also angry,” she said.
Last week, Douglas came under fire for not putting her hand over her heart during the National Anthem while she and her teammates won gold in the team competition. Later on, she was called out for look-

Team USA center DeAn- dre Jordan of the L.A. Clip- pers has made the claim that an Olympic gold medal should be viewed by the American basketball commu- nity as a more substantive achievement than an NBA championship.
"I think they're above NBA rings," Jordan told ESPN of the gold medal USA Basketball is chasing here in Rio entering Wednesday night's quarterfinal game against Argentina.
"I may get in trouble for saying that, but I believe that. I feel like this is more special. You're not just playing teams in the U.S. You're playing teams from all over the world.

ing less than enthused for teammates Simone Biles and Aly Raisman as they won the the all-around gold and silver, respectively.
“I tried to stay off the Inter- net because there’s just so much negativity,” she said. “Either it was about my hair or my hand not over my heart or I look depressed. It was hurt- ful. It was. It’s been kind of a lot to deal with.”

And this is even more special because there's an NBA champion crowned every year, but this is every four years.
"You've got to really think about that, man, because it's extremely special."
Jordan, like Anthony, has yet to win a champi- onship in the NBA.
Robert Griffin, III’s marriage is just about over ... the NFL star has separated from his wife and the two are in the process of filing for a di- vorce ... this according to Cleveland.com.
The Browns QB married college sweetheart Rebecca Liddicoat in 2013 and just last year she gave birth to a baby girl.
But Griffin has report- edly told his teammates and coaches that the marriage has hit a wall — and both parties are going their separate ways.

RG3 is said to be having a tough time with the situation — but he’s working through it with the support of family and friends. Sad.
