Remembered In Our Hearts Always
LEILA SMITH WILLIAMS
Most recently, a professional colleague who had been under the tutelage of this educator received a high honor and promotion to a governmental position with statewide programming significance.
In celebrating her good news and heartfelt gratitude, she gave this colleague a beautiful DaySpring card which read, “With special Thanks what joy to know you had a part in filling someone else’s heart with the things that are a reflection of God’s goodness and His steadfast love... What you have done will be remembered in my heart al- ways!”
Written on the inside cover, were these heartfelt words, “...Thank you for being ‘...a doer’” of the Word; strong ad- vocate and wise counselor; reprimanding in love and in truth; and for showing us the way! I will always be grateful for the kindness and generosity you have shown me.” Rev- erently, a small beautiful wooden chest with a red velvet bag protected a rare and precious gift — a Christian cross made from white turquoise and Tibetan silver! Tears of joy flowed like rain with praises to God for the blessing — to
God be the glory!
This timely experience is God’s way of reminding us
h0w our Mama helped others along the way, because it is the right thing to do; followed God’s example and gave un- conditional love; and encouraged us to never give up in any situation. Mama gave all that she had out of love and no charge!
So, what you have done will be remembered in our hearts always! Echoing the sentiments of Ruth 2:12 (NIV), May the Lord repay you for what you have done. Well done! Well, goodnight Mama, we will see you in the morn- ing!
Lovingly, your children: Juanita, Leatricia, Earliest, Valretha, Maggie, Norma and Michelle; and your grand- children.
