School District’s Office Of Supplier Diversity And NAACP Host End Of Year Celebration
On Wednesday, Decem- ber 14, the Hillsborough County Public School Dis- trict Office of Supplier Di- versity and the
Hillsborough
Branch of the NAACP hosted its ‘End Of Year Cel- ebration’.
School Board members, district employees, consult- ants, NAACP board mem- bers and small business owners enjoyed the lunch, networking and program held at the Sam Horton In- structional Service Center.
The Hillsborough County School District Board ap- proved policy in April 2010 to dictate the direction in which the District would in- fluence the use and partici- pation of small businesses. Since that time the District has worked closely with the NAACP and has a Satellite Office within the NAACP’s Empowerment Center.
The office’s chief officer of diversity for the district is Minerva Spanner-Mor- row.
