Class Of 2017
Tampa Native Is Summa Cum Laude Graduate
Recently, a Tampa native took part in her graduation exercises at Florida A & M University. She earned the distinction Summa Cum Laude.
Ms. Camille Young
earned her Bachelor of Sci- ence Degree in Social Work. During her tenure at FAMU, she made the President’s List and became a member of Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society.
Now, having completed this milestone in her life, Ms. Young plans to continue her education at the University of Texas, in San Antonio. She plans to obtain her Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Young, 25, enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and reading.

Graduate Plans To Influence Others To Help Children

Ms. Tatiyana Rich has completed all re- quirements and will be among the students graduating from Jefferson High School.
She plans to earn her B. S. degree in Nurs- ing as part of her immediate goals.
However, her plans don’t stop there. The 18-year-old has accomplished many achieve- ments as an Unaccompanied Youth during her tenure as a student.
Ms. Rich said, “My ultimate goal is to be- come a Pediatrician not only for myself, but for those that I can influence with my position. I want to be able to help and encourage other children that are dealing with issues at home that they cannot control, and to help those children that have been placed in circum- stances that are affecting them daily.
“By building a platform, I am able to reach and educate youth that have been in similar situations like mine.”
She has earned the Dale Carnegie Highest Award for Achievement; Honorable Mention in Photographer’s FORUM Magazine Con- test; and has been awarded a $20,000 Bailey Family Foundation Scholarship.

Ms. Rich is also a member of the National Honor Society; National Art Honor Society; and National English Honor Society.
College Student Graduates With Honors
Ms. Erica Vereen grad- uated from Warner Univer- sity on May 6th. During the graduation ceremony, she was recognized as an Honor Graduate having a 3.8 grade point average.
Ms. Vereen is the daughter of Mrs. Theresa Farquharson and the late Garfield Farquharson. She is a member of Em- manuel Missionary Baptist Church, in Colorado Springs.
Her future plans include entering the Ministry and opening a homeless shelter and outreach program.

Graduations To Be Aired On Television For First Time
For the first time, Hillsborough County Public Schools will air all traditional high school graduations live on cable on the Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network (TBAE). Hillsborough County Public Schools will also live stream the graduations.
This is an important way to connect families and friends who cannot attend graduation because of distance, military deploy- ment, illness, work obligations or other reasons.
Graduation ceremonies will also be archived for viewing on de- mand at a later time. Graduation ceremonies can be seen on Spec- trum Cable channel 635 or Frontier Cable channel 32, or viewed online at http://graduation.hcpswebcasts.com and click on the school’s logo.
