Man Dies After Being Shot By Business Owner

A 27-year-old Tampa man died after being shot. The in- vestigation into the shooting is continuing.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers re- sponded to Tire Shop Mobile Service, 1504 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., shortly after 5:30 p.m., Wednesday.
When police arrived, they discovered Monte L. Irving had been shot twice in the left
side. He was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
Police said the owner of the tire shop approached the offi- cers and stated that he had shot Irving after Irving al- legedly attacked him. Police did not say what the alterca-
tion between the two was about. They also did not iden- tify the business owner.
The investigation into the shooting is continuing. Detec- tives are conferring with the Hillsborough County State At- torney’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed in the case, police said.

Police Investigates Fatal Stabbing
The Tampa Police Depart- ment are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man. He died at a local hospital after being stabbed Monday night.
According to police, Kat- won Leon Jones and another man became engaged in an al- tercation in the 8500 block of N. Alaska Street. At some point during the altercation, J0nes was stabbed. He was trans- ported to Tampa General Hos- pital, where he later died.
