As part of our initiatives to deepen commitments to the third level sector,
in November we celebrated the launch of the Ei Electronics Science &
Engineering Laboratory at University of Limerick – a state-of-the-art
space that will enhance hands-on learning for students across multiple
disciplines. We are delighted to inspire the next generation of STEM talent
and strengthen the bond between academia and industry.

Shortly before stepping down as CEO, Mick Guinee set
up a Charitable Foundation to be known as The Michael
Guinee Charitable Foundation.
Always known for his benevolence in the community,
Mick’s Foundation will continue this work locally,
nationally and internationally.
The Foundation will provide financial support to
non-profit organizations involved in addressing
social and community needs, health care, education,
homeless services, alleviation of poverty and generally
help to provide a more just society.
Its mandate excludes sporting activities.
Although it has been just over a year in existence, the
Foundation has already provided a significant levels of
grants. Several projects are ‘in the pipeline’ in Clare,
Limerick and Cork. Four University Scholarships have
been awarded to students of St. Patrick’s Comprehensive
and St. Caimans Community School and these will be
annual scholarships.
The Foundation is a registered charity. It does not raise
funds from the public.
