The highlight of the golfing year was the
annual GE Outing, held again this year
in Tulfarris, Co. Wicklow. The event was
well supported with a total of 20+ golfers
participating, with 15 from Ei.
The individual prize was won by Eoin
Flynn with an excellent 36 points on a
testing course. Following behind were
Jack Kelly (35), John Sinnott (35), Jimmy
Grehan (34) and Killian Howard (32).
The perpetual ‘Paul Revere’ trophy,
contested between Ei & former GE
companies, was won by a single point by
a jubilant (and very experienced!) Peggies
team. There are lingering questions
regarding the selection of the Ei team, it will
be no surprise if a new selection committee
is in place for 2025!
2024 marked another hugely successful year for our Astro Soccer
tournament, with 18 teams participating in ferociously competitive
and entertaining matches. Ultimately, it came down to a final
matchup between Bay 39 (Clare) and Bay 44 (Cork), with the Clare
team roaring to victory on the day, setting the tone for what would
play out in the All-Ireland hurling final the following Sunday.
World Bicycle Day in June
June 5th was World Bike Day and
Ei joined other Companies from
the SFZ and Shannon Chamber
for its first World Bicycle Day
event. As a fun themed event, it
entailed a Group cycle into the
Town Centre for lunch, with an
optional bike repair clinic from
the Bike Doctor and Health
