Selection Sources for External and Internal Enterprises
1 - Selection sources are identified i.e. customer database, national marketing and strategic partners from both public and private sectors. Meetings will be scheduled to extend the program and development benefits to each identified source for distribution to their network.
Selection Criteria for External and Internal Enterprises (Supplier Numbers are for illustration only)
2 - Selection criteria will be aligned to the identified customer development areas. The application form will further include capturing of business and owner specific details along with all relevant BEE information and certificates. The application process requires completion of the benchmark survey and agreement with terms and conditions, participation agreements and approval to conduct credit vetting.
3 – The Value Builder benchmarking results will be used to identify two groups i.e. between 46 and 59 and greater than 60. 100 Enterprises will be selected from these groups and progressed to the next stage. Those not selected will be provided their results and access to a Value Builder workshop. All entries will be captured into a database for future company specific requirements.
4 – One of the key areas to focus on as part of the selection is to identify those enterprises with a high growth potential score. This indicates high levels of scalability and differentiation. 50 Enterprises will be selected from the 100 based on their growth potential. The 50 candidates not selected will be provided with access to the self-development online portal. This will enable them to work on the platform ensuring they are better positioned for future opportunities.
5 – At this stage a Professional Orientation Profile will be completed to ensure the entrepreneur has the right qualities for the program and business. The psychometric test will provide interviewers with additional information to use in conjunction with the business analysis and results. 20 Enterprises will be selected based on their profiles and fit while the remaining 30 will be entered into the Tier 3 group development program serving as a feeder for future candidates.
6 – To select the final 14, site visits will be conducted. This will be to validate information and to at the same time identify skills, equipment and certification needs. A report will be generated and used to guide the program design and specific enterprise requirements. The 6 enterprises that are not selected will be entered into the group program.
