Option E – Dedicated Consultant Development: Objective – To develop a team of industry specific, customer specific, supplier specific consultants that will be trained and certified to deliver ESD services. Target internalizing of spend and focus to ensure long term sustainability effectively enabling the customer to leverage and retain the dedicated services of their own consultants.
Approach – Select graduates and develop them to become dedicated consultants focused only of customer specific suppliers and industry. Enable consultants through hands on learnership and a 2year program leveraging Business Doctors platforms, certification and IP.
Strategy – Use Enterprise and Supplier Development budget to develop a team of consultants. Budget will be allocated to certify and train consultants while at the same time generating revenue for themselves by invoicing for delivery of the benchmarking and supplier development services to the customers Suppliers
Benefits – Effective use of supplier development funds to create dedicated team focused on the customer specific suppliers and industry. Improve preferential procurement by purchasing consulting services from the consulting team
Existing Suppliers – Existing suppliers will be targeted for development by training new consultants to design and deliver customer and industry specific services.
ESD Program – ESD funds will be used to develop new consultants while at the same time enabling them to perform program design and delivery services
1. Certification and systems access R64k per consultant – This includes training on program development, conducting site visits compiling gap analysis
and access to systems and platforms for a year
2. Onsite training and support R42k per consultant – This includes training on delivering supplier development programs and compiling monthly progress reporting. The consultants are provided with full new venture assistance including websites and collateral.
Preferential Procurement – Consulting services will be procured from. The team of consultants while they at the same time delivery services and complete certification
1. Consultants will invoice the customer R13k for providing benchmark reports, conducting site visits and program design to the customer Suppliers
2. Consultants will invoice the customer R65k for providing supplier development services and reporting for a 12month period
Year 2 approach – The team of consultants will become more specialized in year two by incorporating more advanced methodologies and gaining more industry specific certification. This ensures long term sustainability and grows the supplier consultant relationships.
