Our Staff
André Pilon
Owner/Licensed Funeral Director
André grew up in the family bakery in the town of Vankleek Hill. At the age of 11, his scout leader, Ted Liddycoat who happened to be the local funeral director took him on to help out around the funeral home. Much to his mother’s chagrin, André took a liking to the profession & soon decided he would like to pursue a career in funeral Service. Though dairy farming remained a childhood passion of his, there was no way that the family would ever own a dairy farm so at the age of 17, André left home to work for Lorne Kelly of the Kelly Funeral Homes in Ottawa. He later studied Funeral Service Education at Humber College in Toronto & graduated with honors receiving his funeral Director’s License in 1985.
The next few years were spent working in various funeral homes around Ontario. Owen Sound, Hawkesbury, Cornwall and Ottawa were stops along the way that eventually lead to the opportunity to purchase the Smith funeral Home in Arnprior from then owners, Clem & Doris Smith. Since January 1, 1994, André Pilon & his capable staff have endeavored to offer area families the very best in quality facilities, equipment and service in their time of need. The Pilon’s uncompromising standards of service have earned their funeral home the reputation of Trust, Understanding & Integrity. Warm, attractive facilities combined with attention to every detail have been the building blocks of what has become one of the finest & fastest growing funeral homes in the Ottawa Valley. Along with his wife and partner Gina, André, his son Philippe and their staff deliver uncompromising service both before, during and after the funeral. The Pilons have learned that nothing is possible without lots of hard work & dedication on behalf of both the owners of the business and staff alike. Built on a legacy of wonderful relationships, the Pilon Family Funeral Home remains a major integral part of Arnprior and its surrounding communities.
