Vanessa Zenz - Director

Vanessa Zenz was born in Smithtown,
NY and raised in Islandia NY. She
received her degree in Mortuary
Science from Nassau County
Community College in 2010. It was
during her time in college, that she
first came to the Ruland Funeral
Home to complete an educational
introduction into funeral home
operations. After her graduation,
Vanessa completed her residency in
funeral services at the Ruland Funeral
Home and was asked to stay on as
one of our licensed directors in 2011.
Vanessa is exceptionally skilled in
the restorative arts, desairology and
c o s m e t o l o g y.

Vanessa is a member of the National
Funeral Directors’ Association
(NFDA), the New York State Funeral
Director Association (NYSFD), and
the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors
Association (NSFDA).

Vanessa currently
lives in West Babylon
with her fiancé,
Joe, and their
cat, Gus. Vanessa
enjoys reading,
long boarding, and
powerlifting.

John Konkowski - Funeral Service
Assistant

John Konkowski has
been working at
the Ruland Funeral
Home for the past
12 years and started
working in funeral
service back in
1971.
John has lived in
Ronkonkoma for 39 years with his
beloved wife, ‘Chickie’, of 49 years
and their two sons.
John’s motto is, and always will be, to
treat families as if they were his own.
