It’s the exchange of files and information Communication that doesn’t require
between people at the same time such as: an immediate response such as:
1. Video chats 1. Sending an e-mail file
2. TV Live programs 2. Recorded educational programs
3. Chat rooms
Synchronous communication
1. Video chats: allows you to communicate directly with one or more
persons via your computer/ mobile.
tools needed: a device, a camera, a speaker and an application to access a
video chatting program.
2. Instant messaging (IM): allows you to send messages using the
Internet. Messages may include texts, images or videos.
tools needed: an instant messaging program on your computer.
3. Chat rooms: these allow you to communicate with others in a group
about a specific topic.
tools needed: a web browser like internet explorer or google chrome and
a chat room application.
4. Cell phone application: it’s an application that runs in your mobile it
allows you direct access to different programs such as e-mail, instant
messaging, social network pages and video chats.
Asynchronous communication
Email: this allows you to send and receive messages.
Emails are a little more formal than IMs.
Tools needed: a web browser to access the email website such as Yahoo, Gmail
and Hotmail.
