This class is designed for people who are experienced in all-positions Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), who wish to qualify for an American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) 6G pipe or American Welding Society (AWS) Structural certification (Qualification).

Students will learn hands-on welding technology through a variety of subjects including Safety, Print Reading (Symbols & Drawings), Cutting & Brazing, Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Pre-Heat/Post-Heat Metals, Intro to small pipe welding, resistance welding, and robotic welding. Included in this course is an AWS Certification test, textbook, welding calculator, safety gloves and safety glasses. An electronic welding helmet recommended and a welding jacket is required.
