Tech Tip

Electrode ovens are designed to keep 167
welding rods dry. This is especially
critical for low hydrogen electrodes
(7016, 7018, 7024, etc.) Moisture can
lead to hydrogen cracking in the
weld. The higher the strength of the
steel, the more prone to hydrogen
problems. Warm welding rods will often
perform better too.
