Prayer B o ok
let Your will be done
My Christ, my dear Christ, my little Christ,
I fervently pray to You:
Whenever I see my plans fail,
when my single will is not fulfilled,
when I am saddened that I was not understood,
(my … supposed wisdom),
come to remind me
that You Yourself pleaded with Your Father in
Gethsemane,
“Father, if it is possible,
let this bitter cup pass from me,”
and immediately added,
“yet not as I will,
but as You will.”
Teach me to make it my philosophy
to renounce my own will
(which I doubt is truly for my good),
and to embrace Your Wise Will,
which surely is for my good.
