Lord, plant Your words in my heart!
Help me to remember that the dirty, the vagrant, the
bully, the prostitute, the naked, the rude, the difficult,
the blasphemous, the filthy, the sick, the repulsive, or
disgusting person is Your Christ!
Lord, make me remember that every repulsive or
disgusting person is my light!
Lord, make me remember that every repulsive or
disgusting person is Your light, is my being!
My existence is all of them.
They are the light with which You illuminate me:
they are the rays that make me exist.
I exist with them!
I exist because they exist!
I exist only because they exist!
Help me, Lord, to repent!
Help me, Lord, to transcend in love beyond the
beautiful and the ugly, the good and the bad, the
useful and the useless.
Help me, Lord, to love.
