thirst for joy
“And now you are sorrowful;
but we will meet again, and your hearts will rejoice.
And no one will ever be able to take that joy
away from you!”
John 16:22
The longing for life is imprisoned in our deadly ego,
in the dead-end of our false, selfish being!
The water of this life in our cupped hands,
before we can even drink it, slips through our
fingers, and spills and is lost in the chaotic void,
before it can even refresh our lips!
We take a few breaths of life from others,
which immediately turn into the rattle of death.
Come!
Come, Christ!
