Come, Joy of Life, You, to incarnate
in the relentless sorrow of loneliness!
Come, our Christ, take us all within You, all, and
everything.
And make everything radiant with Your unfading
Joy!
Be Yourself this Joy,
the Joy that comes after voluntary sorrow—
Not the withering sorrow of the lonely ego,
but the crucified breaking of the ego!
That Cross that births the Resurrection of Joy!
This true Joy, the incorruptible one,
this Joy, that no one,
no one will ever be able to take from us!
