Deification (Theosis)
The ultimate calling of the human being: to participate in the
life of God by grace, becoming “god” not by nature, but by com-
munion.
Divine Liturgy
The Eucharistic gathering of the Church, where time and
eternity meet, and the faithful partake of the Body and Blood of
Christ.
Ecclesiology
The theology of the Church—its nature, structure, and life. In
Zizioulas, it is inseparable from Eucharist and communion.
Eschatology
The orientation toward the last things—not merely the end of
time, but the fulfillment of creation in the Kingdom of God, al-
ready revealed in the Eucharist.
Eucharist
The sacrament of thanksgiving, in which bread and wine be-
come the Body and Blood of Christ, and the Church becomes
what she truly is.
Father (Monarchy of the Father)
In Trinitarian theology, the Father is the source (arche) of the
Son and the Spirit—revealing that being itself originates in per-
sonal relationship.
Grace
The uncreated energy of God, through which He is present
and active in the world, drawing creation into communion with
Himself.
