Holy Tradition
The living transmission of the faith of the Church—Scripture,
liturgy, councils, Fathers—not as static preservation, but as life
in the Spirit.
Hypostasis
A concrete, unique existence. In Orthodox theology, the per-
son is not an isolated individual but a being-in-relationship, re-
flecting the Trinity.
Icon
A sacred image that reveals the transfigured reality of cre-
ation. It is not mere representation, but a window into commu-
nion with the heavenly.
Incarnation
The becoming human of the Son of God in Jesus Christ—
where God enters history to restore and unite creation.
Kingdom of God
The final destiny of creation, already present in the life of the
Church, especially in the Eucharist.
Liturgy after the Liturgy
The continuation of Eucharistic life in the world—where the
faithful carry the spirit of communion into everyday existence.
Metanoia
Repentance understood not as guilt, but as a transformation
of mind and heart—a turning toward God and true life.
Mystery (Sacrament)
A visible sign of invisible grace, through which God commu-
nicates His life. The whole Church is ultimately a mystery.
