Father, the world has not known you, but I knew you, and these have known that you have sent me. I have made your Name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

A garden was there and he and his disciples en- tered. Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew about the place because Jesus often met there with his disciples. Judas then, having taken a band of soldiers and some officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torch- es, and weapons. Jesus, therefore, knowing all that was happening to him, went forward and said to them, “Who are you looking for?” They answered, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am he.”
