2. After all three strands have been tucked once through the standing
               part of the rope, take another complete set of tucks in the standing part,
               putting the loose strands through it one by one, as before. Use a fid or a
               marlinespike as needed to pry openings in the standing part.



























               3. When three full tucks have been taken through the standing part of the
               rope, pull all strands taut—making certain that all are in equal tension—
               and twist each one with the lay of the strand. Cut the loose strands off,

               leaving an end of about ¾ inch on each.
