WET WEATHER OUTER WEAR
Waterproofs seem in conflict with
protection from an electrical hazard
but there are some very strong
arguments for why these must
be considered. Firstly it would be
catastrophic for the arc rated layers
to be covered by a non-arc rated rain
coat that could melt or catch fire in
the event of an incident. Secondly
the number of cable strikes is around
150 per week and in the UK these are
more than likely in wet weather and
this arc protection could then
be lifesaving.
