Let’s get Personal…

How has God refined you throughout life? What events, even times when you have made poor choices, has
he used to remove sinful tendencies? Has his work in you helped you advise and be patient with others?
Does God sovereignly oversee the lives of all who express faith in his Son? Can God use occult images and
activities for his own purposes? How can the church teach the dangers of the occult and still acknowledge
God’s sovereignty?

Is God’s grace big enough to overcome any tragedy in life, including a sinful choice we have made? Does
your church treat sinners as unreachable? Unsaveable? How have you used painful events in your life to
counsel others? Is there a connection between the degree of comfort we receive from God in times of
trouble and the degree of faith we have in Christ during those times (2 Cor. 1:3-5)?
