Have you ever packed for a long trip? You must try to think of everything you might need while you are
away. Some people make checklists to make sure they have everything. Think of it, Paul and Barnabas
took off to go to a land they had never been to and had to pack for the trip. They did not know where
they would stay when they got there or how the people would receive their message. It must have been
a bit scary to start the journey. But they both had a message, the Gospel, to share with the lost souls to
where they were going, and they simply trusted God to take care of their needs. I hope you have the
kind of faith that they had when leaving their home church of comfort to launch out to the unknown.
Let’s see if we can take a journey with them……
The Lesson ...
The Mediterranean Sea
The “Great Sea” provides all the showers
that water the hills and valleys of Palestine.
And the wonderful dews which, with
regularity of clockwork, settle during the
rainless season in the cool of the evening
upon the Palestinian hills. The harvest,
whether grain or fruit, is nourished by these
heavy dews. The sea was an important route
for merchants and travelers of ancient times
because it allowed trade and cultural
exchange between peoples of various
regions.
