Activity: Did you fully understand that the purpose of the sign gifts was to authenticate the prophets or
apostles who were declaring that they were giving God’s Word to the world? By being able to do what only
God could do, these servants of God had their words validated by miraculous signs. The Word of God was
completed shortly after 90 AD. The purpose of the “sign gifts” ceased with the completion of God’s Word.
His revelation was finalized. While God certainly can perform healings and miracles today, He no longer has
to validate NEW REVELATION, because His revelation is completed in His Word. Do you agree with this
paragraph? If not, why not?
