Everyday Heroes,
There is a theory that suggests that past performance is the best predictor of future performance. That theory is truly representative of our staff, not just in the face of adversity but every day. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, Upson Regional Medical Center was faced with an unprecedented challenge. Patients started coming in with symptoms such as shortness of breath, fever, fatigue, and heavy coughing. The COVID-19 virus had arrived to our little community. This changed the way we, as a hospital, do business. We added extra precautions for the safety of our patients, visitors, and employees. These are the more visible changes that we’ve undergone.
What you may not readily see are the triumphs of our staff in the midst
of such tribulation. This is their inspirational story of strength
and faith through adversity.
Many nurses, techs, and respiratory therapists were right in the middle of it all. “During my 25 years of nursing I have never seen anything like this,” said ICU nurse
Stacey White, RN, BSN.
