They fought and they battled.
Some fell, some were injured
and some died. Tūpurupuru
knew that the enemy was
coming for him.
Tūpurupuru stood at his pā and Whakarau
appeared. Strike after strike they fought
hard. Then Whakarau with all his strength
pierced Tūpurupuru and he fell to his death.
