“On the day of the first-fruits, when you offer a
new meal-offering to Hashem on your Festival
of Weeks, it shall be a holy convocation to you;
you shall not do any laborious work”
(ibid. vs. 26)
“On the fifteenth day of the seventh month,
there shall be a holy convocation for you; you
shall do no laborious work; you shall celebrate
a festival to Hashem for a seven-day period”
(ibid. 29:12)
Why doesn’t the Torah specify the date of the festival of Shavuot? It is
because Kabbalat HaTorah has no specific date. Every day of a person’s
