The Straive Solution
Straive worked collaboratively with the Client to establish success metrics
The client was outsourcing this kind of service for the first time. Straive worked closely with
the peer review operations team of the publisher to discuss and agree upon the candidature,
recruitment framework, training plan, certification requirements, and KPIs. The Quality SLAs
were framed at the time of transition based on the understanding of the workflow/tasks.
These are continuously monitored and updated.
In a very short period, Straive recruited post-graduate subject matter experts (SMEs) to form
a team of Reviewer Selection Editors (RSE). The RSEs were responsible for selecting qualified
peer reviewers, thereby reducing the onus on the Journal Editors (JE) or Editorial Board
Members (EBM). JEs and EBMs can now focus on making key editorial decisions with little
or no time spent selecting reviewers.
Straive built its Reviewer Suggest application to help find qualified reviewers by searching
multiple citation databases. The application returns a list of potential reviewer names the
RSEs can choose from Authorship, co-author, and institution affiliation details are considered
to avoid any conflict of interest.
