How Straive approached

           the challenge

                     Thin Slice

First, Straive developed a thin slice – a proof of concept phase in which

every component related to one lesson in the curriculum was developed.
It helps to validate the program guidelines, scope, and processes.
Despite a challenging project schedule, the time devoted to thin slice

development benefitted both Straive and our client by creating the
opportunity to refine the instructional design and guidelines prior to

full-scale developmen across multiple content teams. Upon launching
the full content development phase with simultaneous subject-area
teams (English/Language Arts, Science, Social Studies), all SME writers

and editors were fully trained and comfortable with final prototypes and
guidelines based on the thin slice experience.
