to overcome these challenges and live genuinely worthy of our
calling. The young man who ran away naked for his life reminds
us that following Christ is risky, but it is worth taking for Christ
said, “in the world you will have tribulations. But take heart, I
have overcome the world” ( John 16: 33). The challenges should
not prevent us from speaking truth, doing justice and walking
humbly with the Lord. This is the measure for true discipleship.
May God help us to be faithful disciples of Christ.

Prayer

Gracious God, we thank you for you for sending your
Son our Saviour Jesus Christ into this world to set a model for
us. Remove the scales from our eyes so that we may see your
vision of a new reign of justice, compassion and fullness of life
for all. Surround us with your love, fill us with your grace, and
strengthen us to be your disciples who make a change in our
world. Amen.
