service decisions. Additionally, purchase prices for 33 agricultural products were also required to be displayed. Retail prices were regularly monitored to ensure alignment with production costs.
(4) Supervising prices of medicines, medical supplies, and medical services. The DIT required hospitals to report purchase and sell prices of medicines, medical supplies the medical service fees, the medical treatment fees, and other service fees related to treatment. Price changes must be reported at least 15 days in advance. QR code signs providing comparative drug prices must be clearly displayed in locations easily seen. The DIT also mandated hospitals to provide patients with estimated treatment costs based on preliminary diagnosis every time. Furthermore, patients must be informed of prices of medicines, medical supplies and medical services, treatment fees and other fees before selling or providing services upon request. Moreover, pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, and authorized distributors of manufacturers or importers
must declare their selling prices to hospitals.
2.2) Overseeing trade practices and measurement standards
(1) Monitoring business conduct. DIT conducted investigations on 123,366 business operators to prevent hoarding and exploitative unfair price increases. Business misconduct was found in 117 cases, with administrative fines totaling THB 251,500. The misconduct detected included: failure to display retail prices (64 cases), mismatch between displayed and actual retail prices (46 cases), failure to display information accompanying prices in Thai language
