Don't Change Who You Are

Don't change who you are to fit in to the
standards of beauty.

You are enough; you are graceful within
the realm of this universe,

and take this as a sign that one day it

will all be yours.

And you can shine like the stunning star
that you are; don't wait for an
opportunity to approach you, but rather
grasp it, and cling to it with your life.

Take that risk and one day it will have

been worth it; you are not a prize to be
won, or an object to cage…

You are a person--a beautiful unique

creature, unlike no other, and I find
your little quirks and charms to be

quite magical.

The way your eyes light up when you
talk about that which you are

passionate, about or when you smile
shyly when someone gives you a good
compliment that you deserve, or the
way your loud cackling laugh brings joy

to the darkest places.

Please don't forget about your best
qualities; you may not be able to see
them in a flawed iPhone camera or a
dusty mirror, but those acne scars,
bruises, and freckles, those birthmarks

and battle scars that belong to a
warrior, show this deep inner
pulchritudinous that glows from the
outside and within.
