Albuminuria as a cause for renal/CV risk
• Albuminuria is often seen as a result of renal damage, and indeed if we damage the kidney this may result in increase albumin leakage
• However, albuminuria has also an effect on renal tissue as well as vascular tissue leading to increased damage to these organ systems
