recenty during Ukraine visit

On Friday 23rd November 2023 the FIAP Photo Academy hosted a presentation by the
Pulitzer Prize Winning Photojournalist, Cathal McNaughton.

During his presentation Cathal explained to us how he became interested in photography and
his photographic journey from the start to where he is now, as the only Irish person to win a Pulitzer
Prize for his photography. He was awarded this prestigious prize in 2018 for his coverage of the
Rohingya refugee crisis in Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Cathal started his career working
for newspapers in Belfast, Northern
Ireland. He then moved from there
to work for Reuters and was the lead
photographer for this agency in Photo taken by Cathal McNaughton
India. He now works for EPA Images recenty during Ukraine visit
as a Managing Editor.

During this presentation we
looked at images spanning a 25
year career documenting the best
and worst of humanity. Cathal gave
all who attended an insight into the
emotional strain and sacrifices that
need to be made in order to become
