Started as a Reading Day Celebration on 19 June, 1996, by the Govt. of Kerala along

with P.N. Panicker Foundation it has become a mass movement to promote to culture
of reading so as to inculcate the habit of reading and promote book mindedness
among school children, youth as well as the underprivileged population of the
country.

Students of SSRVM Bangalore North also celebrated the day through various
activities-

1. Making a book trailer (PPT)
2. Reading excerpts from their favourite book
3. Coming up with a six-word story
4. A video on their favourite book

With delightful enthusiasm and vigour, the students displayed their creative works
and read passages with invigorating expressions and passion. Certainly, the online

classes for 19 June were transformed into a digital reading hub. Kudos to the
children for displaying their love for reading and being innovative in creating
wonderful videos, trailers and stories.
