P. 13
A city council member (elected official)
proposes a living wage ordinance. This proposal
is met with support and challenge. As a board
member, you sign up to speak on behalf of your
CAA in support of the ordinance at the next
public city council meeting. You describe how
Celebrate this impacts the people your CAA serves. You
also set up appointments to meet with individual
Advocacy city council members after the meeting to talk
about your CAA and how this ordinance can
Victories change their lives. After many weeks of
readings by the city
advocacy, 1 and 2
nd
st
council, it’s time for the ordinance vote. The
ordinance passes and the Mayor will begin
implementation of the ordinance for a specific
date. This is a great “win” for the organization
and the board member for their key advocacy
efforts!!!!!!
