Managing People
• People are an organization’s most important
assets.
• The tasks of a manager are essentially
people
oriented. Unless there is some
misunderstanding or confusion
of people, management will be successful.
• Management activities include:
• Problem solving (using available people)
o Motivating (people who work on a
project)
o Planning (what people are going to
do)
o Estimating (how fast people will work)
o Controlling (people's activities)
o Organizing (the way in which people
work)
