Sinai
Mount Sinai - 1998
Too many pilgrims scale Mount Sinai. Forgive me, but I do like wandering off. Except, I am compelled to employ a Bedouin
guide to take me to the top of Jebel Katerina, the highest of the mountains and a suitably lonely place to wonder at the heavenly sculpture before me, especially at sunset and sunrise.
This requires sleeping rough at freezing temperatures and being
visited by over-friendly mice in the night. Such discomforts are far outweighed by the glorious rewards.
