Jerusalem
Ethiopian Monk - 1998
One small corner in Jerusalem ranks way above any other as a resting place for a troubled soul. Inhabited by tall dignified Ethiopian monks, squatting on the roof over the crypt
of St. Helena. They have lived in mud huts ever since they were evicted by their Coptic neighbours during the British Mandate period. To enter through their tiny doors you have to make a generous bow as an act of humility.
