P. 11
After the six years of journey in the Manila Xiamen International School, along with two years of hard work and perseverance in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, things have now come to an end. It is unfortunate to end the school year during the times of a pandemic, to have a hastily farewell with everyone. Nonetheless, this perhaps one of the most important stages of life is filled with good times and memories to cherish for the coming decades.
There is too much things I have learnt and experienced in the MXIS and IB life to fit in three paragraphs, and its these stories are what shaped up my identity and personality. My academics studies had lead me to explore the world of math sciences, all of these eventually led me to apply for university courses of computer sciences, in order pursue my dreams of software engineering. My teachers guided and encouraged me to take up new challenges, participating in various competitions and extra-curricular activities, debating over global humanitarian issues in MUN to random facts in WSC, doing community services or sports and dancing. My friends and classmates all around the school also gave me joy and various supports, such as making connections through being a school photographer, or just playing games together. They also helped me to be way less socially awkward than how I was when I first entered school.
To round up, MXIS helped me to gain my own identity, as a computer enthusiast, a film-maker, or a funny dancer. It helped me to formulate my own personality and socializing skills. And of course, not to forget that it guided me through IB, which is the key for the next step of studies in my university. Lastly, none of these are possible without the greatest support from my classmates and friends, the knowledge and wisdom from my teachers, principals, faculty members... And most importantly, my dad and mom, and my sister, who are my anchor and my lighthouse in this amazing life. Thank you all, and I wish the best of the 2020 batch for a bright and wonderful future!
